Bitter to the end

Bitter to the end . . .

The electoral college met on Monday in Harrisburg and confirmed the 270 votes needed for Trump to win the presidency.

Trump was quick to take to twitter:

After the vote and during the announcement, members of the electoral college were met with a mixture of cheers and jeers that erupted in the state capitol.  Many chanting “Shame on you!”

The results will be officially announced on January 6th in a special joint session of congress.

There has been intense lobbying and protests calling for electors to somehow change their vote in favor of Hilary.  The petition to overturn the electoral college circulated and signed by almost 5 million people by change.org was a pipe dream.   In the end, it made no difference.  Trump won 304 electoral votes with only 2  Republican dissension votes.  Four Democratic dissenting electoral votes went against Hilary Clinton.

The 2 dissenting votes from the Republican ticket came from Texas and Ohio.  The final count was 304 for Trump and 227 for Clinton.

Four of the 12 Democratic electors in Washington state broke ranks, with three voting for Colin Powell, a former Republican secretary of state, and one for Faith Spotted Eagle, a Native American elder who has protested oil pipeline projects in the Dakotas. (Source: Fortune)

Former president Bill Clinton who was one of 29 electorates in Albany, New York, cast his vote for Hilary:

“I’ve never cast a vote I was prouder of,” a teary-eyed Clinton said.

The push-back against Trump has been overwhelming. Most of the pundits and people supporting Hilary have been urging the electorates to change their vote in light of her winning the popular vote by over 3 million votes.

All for not.  Remember, the electoral college has NEVER been overturned.  As of Monday, the ‘Dump Trump ‘Party is officially DEAD.  Movements such as Better for America and change.org to make Hilary Clinton president are all DEAD.

And much to the chagrin of all the naysayers, Hollywood establishment and liberal media, Donald Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.

No he didn’t win with the help of Russian hacks.

The Democrats should have seen this coming, yet refused to understand it.  The Trump movement loomed large early in the primaries. Trump just kept winning and continued to beat all of his opponents.  It sent a clear message to everyone that America was fed up with the status quo.

The Trump movement was bigger than all of us.

What most people fail to forget is the other constituents who voted for Trump. Those people have spoken. They have spoken across state lines and not just in the liberal populous states of New York and California.  They represent the fabric of America. A cross-section of the nation.  This is why the electoral college works.

Please think about us:

  • We are your neighbors, bosses, employees and staff.

  • We are the forgotten majority who were crushed under Obama’s policies for the past 8 years.

  • We are tired of watching our jobs go overseas.

  • We are tired of our lax immigration laws.

  • We are tired of a persistent wage inequality.

  • We are tired of Obama care and the rising cost of Healthcare.

  •  We are tired of the out of control tuition for higher education with no relief in sight.

  • We are tired of Obama telling us everything is alright.

  • We are tired of our President being disengaged with our concerns.

  • We are tired of Obama inflaming racial tensions in our country.

  • We are tired of the Washington – insiders, which Hilary so well represented.

  • We chose Trump for the betterment of the people and our country.

The next time you think of the man, think of the people behind him.  The people who voted for him.  One thing is for certain, there will be a lot of soul searching.   The Trump movement has steadily gained momentum and it didn’t just start last year.

The frustration has been boiling over for the past EIGHT years.

Stop telling us everything is "just fine".
We are tired of Obama telling us everything is alright.

  1. I can only hope that you are as happy with yourselves in sic months as you are today. I would even be willing to bet you a ‘mea culpa’ that you will be regretting ever hearing the name Donald Trump by this time next year. I firmly believe that he is going to do his damnedest to dismantle the system of government that has worked well for over 225 years and undermine the principles that truly have made America great. But, time will tell. Meanwhile, I shall continue to dog his every step, not because I’m a sore loser, but because I believe there is not a single good thought in this man’s mind and I do not want to live in the world he seems prepared to create. That said … Merry Christmas to you! Sorry I haven’t popped into your blog lately … life and the holiday season have completely destroyed my routine! 😀

    1. Jill,
America was bamboozled by the “hope and change” condescending, eliteiest and arrogant
POTUS. Obama has us more divided than ever.

      1. That is your opinion. I personally think he is one of the best presidents we have had in the past century, but it is Christmas Eve and I will not argue the point. Happy Holiday!

    2. Oh Jill, you’re so bitter. No he will just dismantle Obamas policies that have run our country into the ground over the past 8 years. I don’t think I will ever change your mind on the subject, but he WILL make this country more secure and strengthen our presence in the world. You can count on it.

      1. Tell me that in 6 months to a year. Meanwhile, today is Christmas Eve, and I’m a bit tired of negativity … trying to get a bit of holiday spirit for my family’s sake, if not my own. So, I would appreciate no more condescending criticism for a day or two, okay?

    3. That’s not opinion, cupcake. These are facts. Obama ruined what was decent healthcare, he bombed the shit out of Syria, helped a coup overthrow elected leaders in Ukraine, and ran our deficit into the ground, and yet you still are too scared to admit he sucks, even though he’s half black. I have to hand it to you liberals for sticking to your stories though.

Your entire life has been a giant lie. Your leaders lie to you, your professors lie to you, and now I will tell you one.

Here, here darling, no need to worry, you’ll die a happy old lady, surrounded and loved by your grandchildren, all eager to share the wisdom you have bestown upon them with the rest of the world.
