Obama released his last radio address to our nation yesterday. It’s just another look at his failed vision and policies that have run our country astray.
Too bad like some of our Christmas gifts, there are no returns.
In the 2008 Democratic Primary, Obama talked about how in his legacy, he wanted to be remembered as the “Liberal Ronald Reagan”. His point being: He wanted to fundamentally put America on a different course.
And he basically put us on a course of failure. Lost jobs, the increasing cost of health care and open-border immigration just to name a few.
“I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America that Nixon and Bill Clinton did not.”-Barack Obama
Now that Obama is ready to leave office, he fears his legacy may be in jeopardy. Donald Trump is threatening to undo most of his liberal, job killing and world failing policies. On the butcher’s block is Obama Care, open trade and Immigration reform.
As big government’s failed pitchman for the past 8 years, Obama doesn’t look like he will go away quietly.
In his last radio address, he reasserted his failed policies and how America is on a much better course than we were 8 years ago. He couldn’t be more wrong.
“8 years ago, apparently, our economy was ‘teetering’ on the brink of depression. One in five folks were out of work. Osama Bin Laden was still in power. We turned recession into recovery. We’ve put more people back to work . . . poverty is falling, incomes are rising. Income rose by $2800 dollars on average. 20 more million Americans now have the financial security of health insurance, our kids high school graduation rates are at an all time high. . . through diplomacy, we shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program, opened up a new chapter with the people of Cuba and brought 200 nations together on a climate agreement that could save this planet for our kids. . . ALMOST every country on earth today sees America as stronger and more respected today than they did 8 years ago . . . ” and the list goes on.
He goes on to say that we need to sustain and build on what we have already achieved. Like “helping more young people afford higher education” .
Why is what he says not ringing true with anyone these days? Could it be that reality is much different than what you are hearing? Much of the distrust with Washington and why Trump is president is the result of Obama’s policies and ‘progressiveness’ and all out lies about our economy and presence on the world stage.
On the domestic front, how can Obama justify setting up a health exchange that largely doesn’t work, pushing global free trade and an open immigration policy that dilutes the job pool in favor of cheap labor and also directly causing an unprecedented crime wave by illegal aliens?
And while trying to push his vision of greener energy (remember the wind-farm stimulus that failed?) and solve the financial crisis with a costly stimulus package the failed, he has now earned the well deserved nickname “the food-stamp president”.
At the end of 8 years, his policies and programs have dramatically added to our national debt. Obama has added about 8 trillion dollars to the national debt, far out pacing any president in history. In fact, he has amased and added more spending and national debt than the previous presidents combined in the last 200 years.
Obama seemed to miss the point entirely during his 8 years in office and in his last radio address. Obama care and college tuition are 2 great examples. Instead of addressing the real problem which was the 1) out of control insurance companies, 2) raising premiums with less coverage, 3) slashing health care coverage and 4) fighting the powerful insurance lobby, the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare is now doing exactly what it was designed not to do: Increasing health care costs while many are loosing already dwindling coverage. Many insurance companies have just increased deductibles, premiums and cut services to make up for the cost incurred by governmental oversight.
Insurance costs are projected to increase 22% in 2017, displacing millions of hard-working people who lost their existing insurance plans and more students are now taking out loans while tuition for higher education continues to skyrocket.
Concerning higher education, tuition costs are now soaring to a 200% increase in the last 4 years with no end in sight. This governmental control of healthcare, like his governmental take-over of the student loan program, is doing exactly the thing it was designed to prevent.
His foreign policies are just as misdirected. Not only is the world in chaos and terrorism running rampant, his liberal left professorialism has left us looking weak in the eyes of most Europeans, Russians and certainly among our Muslim enemies.
His early departure and pull-out of the region has left many of our middle eastern allies in a conundrum. You can say the premature exit to scuttle out of Iraq against his own cabinet’s advice left a void that was easily filled by extremists and the rise of ISIS.
ALMOST every country on earth today sees America as stronger and more respected today than they did 8 years ago . . . – Barack H. Obama . . . indeed
And yet, in his radio address, it’s all roses and sunshine. He reasserts that “income is rising, poverty falling and the auto industry is “resurgent.” He jokingly reaffirmed the liberal flash point of marital equality across this nation.
Now, as the door is starting to shut behind him as he leaves office, it will certainly knock him in the ass on the way out. He assured us prior to Trump winning the election and once Hilary took office, he was looking forward to a “quiet retirement”. This is now in stark contrast to what has happened after the election.
There is now an unmistakable suggestion that Obama claims he needs to stay active to guard the nation against Trump and his incoming administration. The media continues to claim that there is still a warm relationship between Trump and Obama and ‘political experts’ are urging Trump to take advantage of Obama’s political knowledge since Trump has none. This of course is a complete crock-of-shit.
Obama’s latest announcements including the abstinence of vote and support of Israel and recent sanctions imposed on Russia for ‘meddling’ in our elections is nothing more than fodder from the Obama administration to upset a smooth transition of power to the incoming president-elect.
So it now seems, Obama, that yes, ordinary people have come together and voted you out of office for a new Republican leader. We know how desperately you wanted Hilary to continued her failed ways. We also want to put America on a fundamentally different course. And our vision of that course couldn’t be more different from yours.
Happy New Year 2017!
Yes, Obama, we will move this country forward without your help, thank you!
