Celebrities are at it again. Meryl Streep accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes last night and used that opportunity to admonish Trump. She touched on such subjects as Hollywood, foreigners and the press.
She added that there were many performances last year, but one stood out, referring to Trumps performance while mocking a disabled New York Times newspaper reporter in 2015. “Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence.” And the show goes on. (ABC news –See entire transcript here)
On Fox News, Kellyanne Conway weighed in and congratulated her for having such “passion for the disabled”. She called her out to say something about the four African-Americans who tortured a white disabled man in Chicago while screaming Anti-Trump expletives live on Facebook.
So, the show goes on. We have diversity. It is what America is all about. We are a nation of immigrants. It is what has made America. Our country is the melting pot of the world.
Lately, with Streep and the StandUpForUs celebrities, race, sexism and xenophobia are three catch words that, according to the media and celebrities, is proof our president-elect is unfit to serve as president. In some way, Donald Trump has been perceived as someone who doesn’t fit the mold of a modern president.
These three words: Racism, sexism and xenophobia have spurred the many anti-Trump movements and petitions that we see today.
In 1776, Thomas Jefferson penned in the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
You will notice that Jefferson wrote “all men” and did not include women. But we know that it infers ‘all people’. Of course, at this time in our history, slaves did not have these rights and either did women. The abolishment of slavery and the suffrage movement would not come for another 100 years.
Recently in a video post by StandUpForUs, celebrities came out and said this:
“Dear members of congress. I’m mad, flabbergasted, furious. Concerned for my children. I’m worried for everyone.
The majority of Americans regardless of who they voted for, did not vote for racism, sexism or xenophobia. Yet, Donald Trump won? And since he won, hate crimes are rising, women have been attacked in his name. People of color attacked in his name. “
Of course, this video was put out before a young, challenged white individual was knife-whipped by four black hooligans yelling anti-Trump dysphemisms. I’m going to stop there, because this first part of the video is what I want to discuss.
When Donald Trump was campaigning, he tapped into a grassroots movement of frustration in America. This was not liberal or conservative. It went much deeper. It has to do with our country, where it has been and where it is going.
Trump has essentially broken the ideological gridlock and cycle of destructive politics in this country. When you look at Trump, he could potentially transcend many of the political ideas that has isolated our country as a domestic and world power.
The Trump election was a sort of “watershed” moment in our history. Newt Gingrich, and former house speaker, speaking at the National Defense University said:
It’s a watershed in the choice of Trump, he’s the only person ever, in American history to win the Presidency without ever holding a public office, or being a General in the military. No one else has ever done this. He did it against 16 Republican candidates of whom at least seven or eight were first class. He did it against the elite media, and he did it against the presumed next president, who had a billion dollars in her campaign. (-New Gingrich: Trumpism Explained)
People who voted for Trump where not the ones who were swayed by the government or the media. They are not all back-woods, uneducated hicks. They are doctors, lawyers and teachers and very well-educated people. They are people in government. They are people who are not racist. They believe in equality. Many are hard-working Americans who want to take this country in another direction. They are frankly tired of what has happened to this country in the last 8 years and want change.
And why didn’t they just vote for Hilary Clinton? After all, isn’t Hilary a better choice over Trump? Well, no. We see Hilary as a clone to Obama’s failed domestic and Foreign policies. It’s that simple. The campaign message was as different as night and day.
Now, let’s understand why the liberal media has played into the race, sex and xenophobe card. It really has more to do about Trump not being a career politician and rather a crass business man. He is a New Yorker! Everyone in this country and the world do and say things a little differently. Also, having someone not of the political establishment is great for ratings and controversy, which sells news.
Campaigning is like war. It brings out the worst in most candidates. It is a crucible. Ask anyone who has campaigned. Ask Hilary. Once it’s over, it’s over. But, how could the media-elite and well-known celebrities get it so wrong?
This was best described by Nassim Nicholas Taleb who wrote ‘The Intellectual Yet Idiot’ (IYI). He describes and explains how “the self-assured people who constantly get things wrong, constantly screw up on issues of national significance and yet somehow never face any consequences or accountability for their actions.” (Liberty Blitzkrieg)
If you think Donald Trump is a xenophobe, you don’t have to look any further than his wife. He married a women from Slovenia. If you think Donald Trump is sexist or racist, you can look no further than his business dealings and who he hires.
In fact, most of Trump’s hirings have more to do with the quality of a person’s character than the color of their skin or gender. In a story published by Yahoo News, “Trump has consistently hired women for positions of real power in his organization and been darned proud of doing so.”

In the wake of Trumps win, even the stock market has gone up 9% and companies are already announcing their hold of moving factories and jobs abroad. And this is happening even before Trump takes office. CNN even reported that there is a sort of moral guilt among liberals for this good fortune.
Liberals seem to think there is something “morally wrong to have profited from the victory of a man we consider unfit for office and whose policies we viscerally oppose. It’s like possessing stolen property or being the unwilling beneficiary of a nefarious scheme.” (CNN)
No one can accuse the new president-elect of being sexist, racist or xenophobic. Unfortunately, the media will continue to spin their spin for ratings while the IYI will continue to look at the New York Times , CNN and Washington Post as the last word in their own, hypocritical world.
