A Day Without Immigrants

So, the ‘day without immigrants’ protest began its genesis last week by 3 judges on the 9th circus court who suspended Trump’s travel ban executive order.  The panel of judges basically said that illegal aliens or undocumented workers have due-process rights against government actions that protect Americans from foreign threats.  That aliens are not citizens and have no constitutional right to come to the US is apparently superseded by their newfangled “right” to be welcomed into US courts.  So the 9th circus is saying that adhering to legal immigration law is somehow ‘illegal’.?  Did you get that? (The Immigration Crap Shoot)

No matter how you spin it, illegal immigration is NOT LEGAL and only benefits the people and businesses who support it.   Ask yourself this:  What 2 states benefit the most from supporting illegal immigration?  You guessed it, California and New York.  The 2 largest liberal bastions in the United States.  These 2 states are now so left compared to the rest of our union, you can almost say they are small foreign countries.   These are also the 2 states that gave Hillary the popular vote.  Without them, Trump would have easily won the popular vote encompassing the remaining 48 states by over 4 million votes.  (The Popular Vote Fallacy Of The 2016 Presidential Election).

So why are these 2 states supporting illegal immigration and staging a ‘day without immigrants’ protest?  Because they have the most to lose if illegal immigrants are deported.  But what would you say about the victimization of these illegal immigrants?  The modus operondi is employers get cheap labor and immigrants get mostly nothing in return.

A 'boycott' urging undocumented or illegal immigrants to not attend work and skip school. A message to our president that without undocumented workers our country is paralyzed. The leftist propoganda didn't do much of anything. The day without immigrants was nothing more than a misguided inconvenience.

#DayWithoutImmigrants is now trending on Twitter.

The liberal left’s interpretation of the travel ban has now morphed into some silly effort to highlight, to all of us, how vital immigrants are to our economy.  I beg to differ.  Illegal immigration is a tremendous drag on our economy.  Illegal immigration costs this country roughly 113 billion dollars a year.  The protesters and the ‘a day without immigrants’ supporters all miss the point.

A travel ban from 7 largely Muslim countries to improve better vetting has nothing to do with our immigration crisis.

I’m sorry, but the few people who were inconvenienced in this travel ban doesn’t even compare to the millions of people who are inconvenienced every day at the airport because of 9/11.

Legal immigration is a good thing and legal immigrants, like myself, have rights.  Illegal immigrants do not have the right to live here and should not have to resort to hiding and unlawful behavior.  Many will resort to criminal activity to survive.  We want immigrants that are ready to embrace our American values and come here legally.

A FBI crime study also shows heavy illegal alien involvement in criminal activity revealed these statistics: (source: Constitution Party)

  • 75 percent of those on the most wanted criminals list in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.
  • One quarter of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals, as are more than 40 percent of all inmates in Arizona and 48 percent in New Mexico jails.
  • Over 53 percent of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
  • 63 percent of cited drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that number, 97 percent are illegal aliens. 66 percent of cited drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66 percent, 98 percent are illegal aliens.

Legal immigration has its roots in history. Americans encouraged relatively free and open immigration during the 18th and early 19th centuries, and rarely questioned that policy until the late 1800s.  After certain states passed immigration laws following the Civil War, the Supreme Court in 1875 declared regulation of immigration a federal responsibility. As the number of immigrants rose in the 1880s and economic conditions in some areas worsened, Congress began to pass immigration legislation.

The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and Alien Contract Labor laws of 1885 and 1887 prohibited certain laborers from immigrating to the United States. The general Immigration Act of 1882 levied a head tax of fifty cents on each immigrant and blocked (or excluded) the entry of idiots, lunatics, convicts, and persons likely to become a public nuisance.

National immigration laws created the need for new federal enforcement authorities. In the 1880s, state boards or commissions enforced immigration law with direction from U.S. Treasury Department officials. At the Federal level, U.S. Customs Collectors at each port of entry collected the head tax from immigrants while “Chinese Inspectors” enforced the Chinese Exclusion Act. (Early American Immmigration Policies)

Here is a timeline of Immigration Legislation since 1790.

Unfortunately, there are some people who believe we should open our borders to everyone.  Go back to pre-19th century immigration policy.   That illegal immigrants have rights.  That this country needs “illegal immigrants” to perform many jobs most people wouldn’t want to do.  In fact, it’s more complicated than that.  Companies embrace illegal immigration because its cheap labor, plain and simple. Most don’t pay employment taxes, social security or even participate in fair wage equality to its workers.  In the end, the immigrant is on the short end of the stick.  And so is our country.

The Obama administration has deported 2.5 million people - more than every single US president of the 20th century combined. Much of this was is own doing - due to his open-border policy and open border executive policies. Why were the protesters not crying then about immigration "rights".
The Obama administration has deported over 2.5 million people – more than every single US president of the 20th century combined. Much of this was is own doing – due to his open-border policy and open border executive orders. In April 2016, Brandon Judd, the head of the National Border Patrol Council (NPBC) told congress that Barack Obama’s Executive Action on immigration, which provided a free break for non white invaders who entered the US before January 1, 2014, created an “open border” policy with Mexico. He testified in the House Judiciary Committee that Border Patrol agents were instructed to take invaders’ “word for it” that they had been in the US before that date, even though they were dripping wet after just having crossed the Rio Grande River.  Why were the protesters not crying then about immigration “rights”.

So what did  “a day without immigrants”  do for our country.  Well, for most, it was an inconvenience.  Restaurants were closed, laundry didn’t get done, home building and construction went on hold and some school buses didn’t run.  It also gave students another excuse to skip school.

The real message here is that immigrants are a vital stitch to the fabric of America.  We are all immigrants or  sons and daughters of immigrants.  All of us came here legally.  Illegal immigration only benefits businesses who want to ‘cheat’ our country and take advantage of immigrants who are desperate.  In the end, the immigrant will lose everything.  Let’s not support or glorify this type of behavior.   We are a nation of laws and without it, we would be a failed state.

The Liberal left, the media and the Hollyweird elite continue to blame Trump calling him a racist, xenophobe and Islamaphobe.  I want to remind everyone that the immigrant crisis is not something new.  It has been a primary objective of both President Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.  In fact, Obama was nicknamed “the Deporter in Chief” because he deported more illegal immigrants from our country than any other sitting president.  I didn’t hear the liberal left crying about immigration rights then.

“We are a nation  of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws.  It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years . . . and we must do more to stop it.”  – President Bill Clinton in his State of the Union Address  where he received a standing ovation. (1995)
